Nation's second-largest district OK's all-day kindergarten

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education voted unanimously to implement full-day kindergarten within the district's 432 elementary schools. The switch could begin as early as next fall at 159 campuses, but the timetable for the remaining schools will depend on the outcome of a March 2 school facilities bond proposal.
