Budget proposal raises questions for two key weapons programs

The DOD's budget request for fiscal 2009 creates major questions for the future of the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jet and the Boeing C-17 transport. The budget does not include funding for future F-22 purchases or to shut down production of the aircraft. Experts also say that without funding from the war supplemental funding bill, Boeing may stop funding its C-17 transport line.
