Bernanke: Programs to end credit crunch are working

Programs designed to thaw frozen credit markets are showing signs that they're working, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress on Tuesday. "Our lending to financial institutions, together with action taken by other agencies, has helped to relax the severe liquidity strains experienced by many firms and has been associated with considerable improvements," Bernanke testified to the House Financial Services Committee.
