China drives growth in East Asia's bond market

The amount of currency bonds outstanding at the end of last year in emerging East Asia grew by 14.9%, according to the Asia Bond Monitor from the Asian Development Bank. China is the leading source of growth in East Asia's market for local-currency bonds and accounts for nearly 60% of the region's outstanding bonds.
