Clean-energy grants may be cut from stimulus spending

The final stimulus spending bill that makes its way to President Barack Obama's desk may not include $7.7 billion in grants intended to boost wind- and solar-energy projects. The incentives would let investors with tax gains recover a portion of the cost of the project, but the Senate removed the credits as part of a compromise to reduce the total package from $819 billion to $789 billion.
