New guidelines call for 50 minutes of exercise 5 times a week

Updated exercise guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine call for 50 minutes or more of moderate to intense physical activity per day for five days a week to maintain weight loss and lose extra pounds. The report said more recent evidence showed more exercise was needed for overweight people to achieve significant weight loss. The group also recommends regular strength training.
