Airlines expect to see higher security fees in Canada

Air travel in Canada is expected to get more expensive as the government searches for funds to boost airport security. The airline industry says the Conservative government will face "huge pressure" to pay for the security upgrade through higher fees on travelers rather than adding to the general budget deficit. The current air travel security tax, passed in the wake of 9/11, ranges from CA$9.33 to CA$17 each way.
