Debate continues over benefits of law school tenure

Writing in a Wall Street Journal blog post, Ashby Jones considers an ongoing debate over whether the law school tenure system should be done away with. "[M]ost of the time [tenure] functions to confer immunity on professors to work as little as they please beyond teaching their assigned classes. And that imposes a high cost on law schools (in money as well as institutional productivity and morale," according to a quote this article attributes to Washington University law professor Brian Tamanaha.
