Haiti relief organization launches fundraiser for fuel

Bahamas Habitat, a nonprofit that has organized general aviation relief flights to Haiti, has launched a Web-based fundraising effort to cover fuel costs. The "Pilots Pay It Forward" system allows pilots to solicit donations for fuel from friends and associates. "This system makes it possible for pilots to keep coming back and providing their aircraft far beyond their individual ability to pay for their fuel expenses themselves," said John Armstrong, president of Bahamas Habitat.
