Treasury is getting better price for TARP warrants, panel says

The Congressional Oversight Panel had criticized the Treasury Department for the price it accepted for warrants sold back to banks involved in the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Now, the panel is saying the Treasury is receiving higher returns for the warrants. "The warrants were designed to provide taxpayers with a profit on the government's investments in banks, and we are on track to do just that," said Treasury spokesman Andrew Williams.
