UN warns that attacks on schools are up in Afghanistan, Pakistan

Schools, teachers and students are often targets of terrorism and political violence, according to an UN report that studies the issue in 31 countries. Attacks were up in Pakistan, India, Thailand and Afghanistan. Officials say that the attacks harm education because countries become unwilling to invest in it, and students are less likely to consider teaching as a career.
