UNL expands algae biofuels program with new research facility

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is set to ramp up its work on algae biofuels by renovating its Beadle Center greenhouse to accommodate a research facility for algae-based renewable fuels. The university secured $1.9 million in federal funds for the research and is expected to receive more for other work, including the development of corn-ethanol byproducts.
