Crocodile immune system holds evolutionary clues

Some crocodile major histocompatibility complex genes have changed in response to environmental pathogens over time while others have been highly conserved across crocodilians over large spans of time, according to new research. Researchers say the information will lead to further insights into how crocodiles respond to disease threats.
