Idaho state senators propose sales-tax exemption for groceries

Idaho state Sens. Russ Fulcher and Cliff Bayer have proposed a bill that would exempt food from the state's 6% sales tax. Bayer says exempting food from sales tax is a "fairness issue" for Idaho, because 32 other states exempt groceries from sales tax. Currently, some residents get annual grocery credits of up to $120.
