Legislative efforts to expand vaccine exemptions in U.S. are failing

Between 2009 and 2012, 31 bills seeking exemptions to childhood vaccination mandates were introduced in 18 states, mostly personal religious exemptions, but none of them passed, U.S. researchers said. However, three of five bills aimed at restricting vaccine exemptions were signed into law during the study period. The findings appear in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
