Sprint posts upside surprise for Q4

Sprint netted 477,000 subscribers and trimmed its fourth-quarter losses in exceeding analysts' estimates, the wireless carrier reported today. Revenues grew by 1.5% and contract subscribers grew by 58,000 on $1.04 billion in losses compared with $1.32 billion in the prior-year period. Sprint cited gains among prepaid subscribers along with wholesale and affiliate partners for reversing subscriber losses from the previous quarter and a year ago.
