Tinder execs hint at expansion beyond matchmaking features

Tinder recently won the Best New Startup of 2013 at the Crunchies Awards and its co-founders used the space to hint at expansion of its original matchmaking purposes. Tinder sees 600 million "swipes" per day from people who utilize it for dating. "The problems that we're solving are universal, whether you want to meet somebody for romantic purposes, or for a business relationship, or a friendship. ... Tinder's all about filtering through that noise and just letting people who want to communicate with each other communicate," CEO Sean Rad said.
