Ultrasound plus MRI may improve detection, biopsy of prostate lesions

UroNav technology, developed by Loyola University Medical Center researchers, may help reduce the number of prostate biopsies and detect occult prostate tumors. The new technology fuses ultrasound images with MRI scans and allows for use of technology similar to GPS to guide the biopsy needle.
