U.S. should do more to ensure food is safe, survey says

Three-quarters of adult Americans say the government should be more involved in ensuring a safe food supply, and 33% said they would never buy a brand again if it had been the subject of a recall, according to a Harris poll. Half the people surveyed said manufacturers had the main responsibility for health and food safety issues, while 19% put it on the government and 16% blamed farmers.
