Walgreen extends prescription program for new ACA enrollees

Walgreen said Monday that it would extend a special prescription program for people insured under the Affordable Care Act. The program, which has been extended until April 15, allows people newly enrolled under the ACA who have yet to receive their plan identification numbers to get up to a month's worth of prescription drugs at no upfront cost. Walgreen began the program in December, saying it hoped to ensure a smooth transition for people enrolled under the law.
