Georgia education board wants curriculum to use national science standards

Yesterday, the Georgia Board of Education issued a statement calling for the state's science curriculum to incorporate national standards, which includes the teaching of evolution in its entirety. Chairwoman Wanda Barrs said the statement was not intended to criticize state Schools Superintendent Kathy Cox, who triggered a furor two weeks ago when she initially decided to remove the word "evolution" from the biology curriculum.
