Hotel exec Whetsell shares thoughts on lodging industry

In an interview, Paul Whetsell, former CEO of MeriStar Hospitality and current head of CapStar Hotel Co. discusses his thoughts on hospitality. Whetsell says he can tell whether a hotel is good or bad in less than a minute of pulling in front of the property. "You have to provide the basics properly. Otherwise, the other stuff doesn't matter. Regardless of how many gadgets a room has, if it's not clean you won't stay there," he advises hotel managers.
