Fed's Poole sees U.S. avoiding recession

The U.S. will probably avoid its first recession since 2001, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President William Poole said. "My take on the current policy situation is that policy is at a good place for both the long-run concern and for cushioning the impact of financial disturbances," Mr. Poole said. The Fed last month lowered interest rates at the fastest pace since 1990.
