Gold holds steady in Asia on uncertainty of IMF sale impact

Group of Seven finance officials said they would back the sale of gold from the International Monetary Fund's reserves as part of a budget reform. The report created uncertainty in the gold market in Asia. The news "had a mild tempering influence on the gold price," said David Moore, commodity strategist at Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney.
