Grocery store-anchored centers holding up in downturn

Shopping centers anchored by grocery stores appear to be faring better than other retail outlets. The grocery business could be hurt by price wars between leading chains, but brokers continue to report leasing deals in the sector. "Well-located grocery-anchored shopping centers traditionally do well when it comes to leasing activity, and that's still the case," said Doug Clyburn of Regency Center.
