Latin America hotel development slowdown reflects downturn

While hotel development pushes ahead in places like China, the downturn still appears to be slowing things in Latin America, according to a report. The number of hotels in the works in Latin America declined in the fourth quarter for the seventh consecutive month, and the region had 453 hotels in the pipeline over the next four years, which is 34% less than the peak of early 2008.
