Hotels revitalize minibar services with exotic offerings

Hotels are adding exotic food items such as Parmesan herb chips and $25 crystal-encrusted bottles of water to their minibars' stock as they seek to gain an edge in the market. The move reflects an effort among hotels to revive minibar revenue after their continued drop in use by hotel guests. AH&LA reports that 83% of high-end luxury hotels still deploy minibars in rooms.
