Nebraska ethanol plant temporarily halts production

The Midwest Renewable Energy ethanol plant in Sutherland, Neb., is temporarily shutting down for annual maintenance and cleanup, and will wait for market conditions to improve before reopening, said General Manager Troy Gavin. The company hopes to resume operations in a month or two, Gavin said. "We need to work through stockpiles and get closer to the driving season," Gavin added.
