DISH Network on Monday put its Hopper DVR on sale in the U.S. and unveiled advertisements for the technology that claim "commercials are out of our lives." DISH Network Chairman Charlie Ergen, however, told an industry event that he does not want to kill off advertising. "But I also don't want to put my head in the sand, and I think the world is changing," he added. The Hopper DVR includes Sling Media's place-shifting technology that allows subscribers to watch their recorded shows on a number of mobile devices.
