Heavy machinery used for snow removal in Conn.

Snow-throwing trucks and payloaders are being used in Connecticut because the job is too tough for plows. "The accumulated snow is higher than the plow blades on even the big plows and difficult to push. Plows cannot achieve any speed and a one quarter-mile of roadway takes about four hours," said Lawrence Kendzior, city manager of Meriden, Conn.
