AAFP supports new HHS rule expanding access to lab results

A new HHS rule will let people get the results of their medical tests directly from the lab, without going through their physician first. "We support the rule, and we support transparency," said AAFP President Reid Blackwelder, M.D. "The patient has the right to the information, but the physician still needs to communicate with the patient to put the results into the right perspective."
