Diabetes drug may not curb bladder cancer risk in patients

Metformin use did not appear to reduce the risk of bladder cancer in patients with type 2 diabetes, a study in Diabetes Care indicated. Researchers examined 87,600 patients and found no reduction in bladder cancer risk with increased duration of metformin use compared with the use of sulfonylureas.
