Md. weighs prohibiting sale of energy drinks to youths

Maryland Delegate Kathleen M. Dumais has sponsored a bill aimed at restricting the sale of any drink containing 71 milligrams or more of caffeine in a 12-ounce container to minors. Anyone violating the provisions of the bill would be fined a maximum of $500 for an initial offense and up to $2,000 for several offenses.
