NIH awards $5M for infant genome mapping

The NIH announced four pilot grants totaling $5 million for infant genomic testing studies. The research projects cover technical, clinical and ethical questions surrounding infant DNA sequencing, said Dr. Edward McCabe, chief medical officer at the March of Dimes. "Here we have transdisciplinary thinking at the core," he said.
