Chicago exchange to trade weather futures and options

Insurance companies will soon be able to hedge some weather-related risks on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange once it begins trading snowfall futures and options contracts Feb. 26. "We're seeing more and more hedge funds and banks trading the weather contracts," said Brian O'Hearne, managing director of the environment and commodities markets for Swiss Reinsurance Co.
