FDA warns of possible RotaTeq vaccine link to infant gut problems

The Food and Drug Administration issued a warning about Merck's RotaTeq vaccine for preventing rotavirus, following reports of intussusception -- or intestinal twisting or blockage -- in infants. The agency said it did not know if the 28 cases were related to the vaccine, but noted the condition is potentially fatal.
