Hearty soups are the perfect combination: Filling and healthy

People want to eat foods that fill them up, but they often don't want the fat and calories that usually go along with those foods. For that type of diner, soup is the perfect choice. Researcher Barbara Rolls has a book that lists great recipes -- many of them for soup -- that have fewer calories but are still filling. One popular recipe is for a ginger, garlic and soy sauce-spiked Chinese-style chicken noodle soup.
