Studies suggest higher PEEP levels have some benefit

The results of two studies show higher positive end-expiratory pressure in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome is at least as good, if not better, than the traditional procedure. Neither study had much impact on mortality. Researchers said higher levels of PEEP are safe and should be studied further.
