ATA: Three U.S. airports saw domestic growth in 2008

Helped by growth at Southwest Airlines and Virgin America, San Francisco International Airport notched a 4.8% traffic gain in 2008 -- one of just three major airports to avoid an overall drop in passengers. According to the Air Transport Association, Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International and North Carolina's Charlotte Douglas International were the only other facilities to grow their domestic traffic, each up by less than 1%.
