Bell Helicopter sees decrease in January orders

Textron's Bell Helicopter unit said Thursday it received only three orders in January, compared with 40 orders in the same month last year. "Helicopter demand is there, but you can't get the finance," said a company official, noting that orders have picked up in February. Bell's order book stands at $6.2 billion, and the company plans to deliver about 180 helicopters in 2009.
