Medicare decision would deny coverage for virtual colonoscopies

The CMS has tentatively decided not to provide coverage for virtual colonoscopy, saying there is "insufficient evidence" to show that the imaging test "improves outcomes." The agency will accept public comments for 30 days before it makes its final ruling. Some medical experts expressed concern that this would limit the options available to patients.
