Mexico draws more U.S. candy companies

Companies including Brach's Confections, Sunrise Confections and Hershey all have candy-making operations in Mexico. Candy exports from across the border to the U.S. have more than doubled since 2002. According to a Department of Commerce report in 2006, lower sugar prices abroad are one reason the U.S. has lost more than 10,000 candy-making jobs since 1997.
