Package largely overlooks residential real estate

The residential real estate sector does not get much help from the final version of the U.S. stimulus. The biggest potential boost for housing, a tax credit of as much as $15,000 for buyers, was dropped from the bill. The provisions that remain do little to stimulate construction or cope with foreclosures.
