Airlines push for U.N. solution to EU emissions-trading scheme

Global airlines have urged the United Nations to intervene to prevent a trade war over the European Union's emissions-trading scheme. "The risk for airlines is that if this does degenerate into tit-for-tat trade war, then airlines will be caught in the crossfire from both sides," said Andrew Herdman, director general of the Association of Asia-Pacific Airlines.
