AMR Corp. vows to emerge from bankruptcy

American Airlines representatives are spreading the message around the country that American's parent company, AMR Corp., will emerge from bankruptcy stronger than ever. Top American officials visited Los Angeles and indicated it plans to add up to 20% more flights from its five most important hubs: Miami, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Dallas-Fort Worth. Meanwhile, the AMR Retirees Pension Protection Corp. has filed a motion for inclusion on the committee of unsecured creditors for the AMR Corp. bankruptcy. "We represent retirees of AMR," said Bob Rumbaugh, a member of the interim steering committee.
