EPA releases final assessment of perchloroethylene

The Environmental Protection Agency on Friday released its final assessment of perchloroethylene, or Perc, and said it will develop drinking-water and other standards for the solvent. The EPA now has a reference concentration for Perc and expects to take up to 4.5 years for the rule-making process. "It's encouraging that EPA is completing this assessment so that health measures can be taken to protect workers and the public," said David Andrews of Environmental Working Group.
