EU won't drop ETS, doesn't want trade war

A European Union official said the EU would not scrap the ETS, yet could be "flexible" on its emissions-trading scheme. "A trade war is not a desirable outcome of this situation," EU Transport Commissioner Siim Kallas said. Kallas is meeting with representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization during the Singapore Airshow. "We recognize just how strong the opposition is," said Matthew Baldwin, director of aviation and international transport affairs for the European Commission.
