HDL, triglyceride genetics play a role in type 2 diabetes

A study in Diabetes revealed that the risk of type 2 diabetes grew by 3% for every point in a high-density lipoprotein genotype score, while a one-point increase in triglyceride genotype score was associated with a 2% increased risk of developing the disease. The study was based on data from the Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study.
