Mo. middle school adopts Montessori teaching methods

One middle school in Jefferson County, Mo., is being transformed with the help of a new magnet Montessori program that began this year with the sixth-grade class. Instruction in the program is focused on hands-on, student-centered lessons, which are individualized for students' different learning styles. The strategy is used at several district elementary schools, but this is the first middle school in the county to adopt Montessori teaching.
