University of Hawaii reaches agreement in lawsuit over data breaches

Attorneys have reached a settlement in a class action lawsuit involving 96,000 plaintiffs who said they were the victims of data breaches in the University of Hawaii system. The agreement requires the university to provide services for credit monitoring and restoration to the plaintiffs, whose information allegedly was exposed online between 2009 and 2011. The university has denied liability in the agreement.
